From Rosehip to Luna Renewal

A Ritual After Dusk

Some botanicals are chosen for what they do. Others are remembered for how they make us feel.

Luna Renewal begins with both.

At its heart is Organic Rosehip — naturally expressive in colour, texture and scent — accompanied by the resinous depth of Frankincense Serrata and finished with a quiet trace of Amyris Wood.

Together, they became an evening facial ritual inspired by the stillness of the night.

Rosehip — The Botanical Character

Luna Renewal begins with Organic Rosehip Seed Oil (Rosa canina).

For ARAU, choosing Rosehip was not simply a matter of finding a carrier for other botanicals. We wanted the foundation itself to have character.

Our Organic Rosehip was selected to retain its naturally distinctive colour and characteristic botanical scent, rather than presenting as an entirely neutral cosmetic oil.

Its warm natural hue, subtle earthy aroma and rich feel are part of Luna Renewal's identity. They are reminders that what touches the skin began as a botanical material, with its own colour, texture and sensory character.

Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, particularly linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids, Rosehip lends itself beautifully to a nourishing evening facial ritual.

But for ARAU, its appeal goes beyond composition.

Frankincense — The Ritual

Into that character comes Frankincense Serrata (Boswellia serrata).

Frankincense has accompanied human ritual for centuries. Distilled from the aromatic resin of the Boswellia tree, its scent carries a distinctive combination of resin, dryness and gentle woody depth.

Within Luna Renewal, Frankincense is not there simply to perfume the Rosehip.

It changes the atmosphere of the experience.

As a few drops are warmed between the fingertips and pressed gently onto the face, the natural character of Rosehip meets the resinous aroma of Frankincense. What could have been simply the application of a facial oil becomes a small moment of transition at the end of the day.

Amyris — The Wood That Lingers

Amyris Wood plays a quieter role.

Its warm, soft woody character rests underneath the Frankincense, adding depth and helping the aromatic impression linger after the brighter resinous notes begin to soften.

It was never intended to compete with Rosehip or Frankincense.

Instead, Amyris provides the long woody finish — a subtle background that allows the ritual to fade slowly rather than disappear abruptly.

Why Luna?

In Roman mythology, Luna is the divine personification of the Moon — a presence associated with the night sky and the quiet passage of darkness.

That imagery became a natural expression for this facial elixir.

Luna Renewal was conceived for the quieter hours: after the day's movement has slowed, when cleansing is complete and a few drops of botanical oil become the final ritual before rest.

Together, they evoke something of a moonlit night — quiet, warm and contemplative.

This is the idea behind Luna Renewal.

Not simply an oil reserved for nighttime, but a botanical ritual designed around the feeling of night itself.

And under the name Luna, the three settle into an expression of evening renewal.
